China, US Reach an Agreement on Restarting Pork Exports
It is learned from the announcement released on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the United States that trade representatives of China and the US have reached an agreement that the USA would restart exporting pork and its products into China. The China-US bilateral trade in pork would be resumed as soon as the final signing of the relevant details. The Ministry of Agriculture of the US showed that China imported pork and its products from the US with nearly USD 275 million in 2008. China was the seventh pork export market of the US, accounting for 6 percent of the US exports of pork and its products. The official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the US stated that the US would sustain cooperation with China and strive for early resumption of beef exports into China.
